Food glorious food

orchiette alla pomodoro
So last night we went out for a lovely meal at the campsite. What with us having run out of gas and not really being able to cook other than bbq's (and believe me they get very boring after about 3) we decided to go with other people cooking for us. We had Bruschetta for starter, Ben had a capriciosa pizza and I had orchiette alla pomodoro. It was my course that made me decide to write this first post. Not only was the pasta delicious it was made better because it is a traditional speciality of the region of puglia. This made me think about all the specialities they have in Italy. Every region has a food speciality, usually more than one. It is really nice to have food grown, produced and eaten all in the same region. Its a shame as we dont have this in England really. Other than yorkshire puddings from yorkshire, lincolshire sausage from licolnshire and lancashire hotpot from, you guessed it lancashire.  It would be nice to be able to get locally produced specialities at home. Anyway, theres my first rambling.

  1. Hello! We are doing a “Happy Snappy tour”, thanking everyone who’s been visiting us these past few months. So: thank you! :)

Glad you enjoy Italian food (since Kia is Italian), and yes, every region (and often every city) has a few "specialties".

Happy September! Greetings from Finland and Scotland.
